Is the A14 at Cambridge finished?

Can you still use the old A14?

The old A14 has now been closed in both directions between Godmanchester and the Spittals interchanges, to allow Highways England to start work to remove the existing viaduct over the railway and build new link roads into Huntingdon town centre. This closure will remain in place until 2022.

What will happen to old A14?

Our work to transform the old A14 for local journeys in and around Huntingdon is progressing well. In addition to the viaduct removal, we’re also building more than half a mile of new link roads into the town. Work in Huntingdon is expected to complete by spring 2022.

The old A14, now known as the A1307 east of Huntingdon and along the Alconbury spur, and A141 west of Huntingdon, will be handed over to Cambridgeshire County Council once the project is completed. What is the speed limit on the A14?

The vehicle speed limit will be reduced from 60mph to 40mph (65km/h) in such winds. Average speed cameras were introduced on the bridge in 2016 and new cameras have been installed linked to the news speed control signs.
